TAKE ACTION
Demand accountability
Countries have committed to ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. To do so, governments must create enabling legal environments for people living with HIV and those most at risk of HIV. We cannot enjoy our rights and access services under the threat of criminalisation. Outdated laws, persistent misinformation, and stigma restrict our abilities to access HIV prevention, testing and treatment services, put us at increased risk of violence and insecurity, and undermine our human rights.
Why decriminalisation matters
Decriminalisation is an important step towards reducing stigma and violence, and increasing access to services, treatment and support for people living with, most at risk of, and affected by HIV. If you agree that harmful and unjust criminal laws must be removed, join us in raising awareness about the need to decriminalise.
